Salem needs a west side fire station. Right now, there are parts of Salem where emergency response times are more than double the national standard. At a time when seconds count, this is unacceptable. We need to solve this problem. Unfortunately, Salem has no land on which to build the station. Step 1 to solving this problem is acquiring the right land, in the right location at the right price. Salem voters agree that this is a problem, but we need the right plan to get it done. As a member of the new Town Council, I want to propose a land deal that the voters can support so that we can finally start moving forward on this project.
